NEW MEMBERS

Essendon Canoe Club Inc (ECC) is a friendly and well-equipped club catering to the needs of individual and family paddlers. Located in Woods St Ascot Vale, on the Maribyrnong River. We welcome anyone that would like to participate in Canoeing or Kayaking to become a member. Membership is available to the first-timer to the Olympian, from the very young to the not so young – all people can enjoy paddling. Why not come along to a “Come and Try” and have a go. The attached are anticipated come and try dates. To become a member we ask all prospective members to contact the club at essendoncanoeclub@gmail.com. Once prospective members have paid full fees we require all people to do an Induction. This allows people to be introduced to the club facilities, the boats and equipment available and do a course on basic strokes most canoeists need to paddle safely and enjoyably. This is usually run over two Saturday mornings for about 3-4 hours each morning. The induction sessions can sometimes be amended to prospective member’s available time and requirements. Please make sure you bring a change of clothes to these sessions as part of the induction is a “Wet Exit” into the Maribyrnong. These sessions are free for members.
